GPN24 was now two weeks ago and with it my set at the WOC-Stage. Honestly, before it started I was nervous. At one point I had to use both hands just to plug an audio cable into the mixer. But then I put up my headphones, hit the play button on the Midronome and the rest is history I guess. But that's not all. A friend of mine (shoutout to Geruhn) had a camera set up to record what my hands do on the drum computer. I edited the footage into one big video and added the clean audio recording I did separately on the mixers monitor channel. Other friends took short videos with their mobile phones and I edited them as split screen into the video streams timeline at the correct positions. That is all done and ready. However: I also added a ton of comments as subtitles where I explain my ideas at that particular moment, the workflow, the mistakes I made (there were a few) as well as issues that came up with the workflow (for example hihat chokegroup shenanigans, I had a few of these!). During a test view I realized that I'm a fast reader, especially if I know the text content because I wrote them myself. So, ultimately, I made the subtitles disappear too fast and need to reschedule every subtitle again... So, when that happened, I'll finalize the video and upload it to Peertube.
Thank you to everyone who came to the WOC-Stage that day, who enjoyed themselves, everyone who was dancing during and cheering after the performance. I never dreamed that anyone besides myself would find joy in this nice project of mine.
